About The Prince Family

I have been attempting to conduct research into my family for many years, but due to family and work commitments had not even managed to make a start (apart from buying the software around 5 years ago, which is of course grossly out of date now!).
Anyway I decided to take 9 months off work to spend with the family and achieve a few personal ambitions, one of which was of course to do this research. I started in ernest around the beginning of March 2004 and pretty much spent 10 hours a day for the next 6 weeks researching, mainly on the Internet, but also at Kew Public Records Office and my local archive in Winchester.
I have to say that it has been a fantastic journey so far, which I have enjoyed immensely, but I have only really started. The Prince Family Tree now has over 1000 `people`, I emphasise the word people as this is what they are, not names on lists, but real people that are a part of our family, many are our ancestors who have passed on values and characteristics that have helped shape us into the people we are today (I love my red hair by the way!!).
I must at this point acknowledge and Thank my newly found cousins in Australia, Sandra Wilmot and Stephen Prince for their significant contribution. Were it not for the years of research they have conducted I would not know half of what I know about our family today. Thanks also to Laurence Newton who has provided just about all of the information on the Tarrant line.
Please feel free to view our family and please let me know if you see any incorrect details or entries, particularly for those relatives alive today as I have not finished collating this information yet. I would also be very happy to include any photographs that you would like included, simply email them to me as a JPEG and I will publish them.
Finally, even though personal details are limited I do realise that some of you may not want your details included. If this is the case I will of course respect this and remove them, just let me know.
I hope you enjoy seeing the history of our family.

Getting Around There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool. |
